About Late August
rachel is a 20-something-year-old who isn’t in love with her job. she escapes her daily life via a trip to chicago to visit her college roommate, with whom she has a tense relationship. their night takes a turn when rachel runs into an old flame, during which she begins to reevaluate her perspectives on love, friendship, and self-fulfillment.
late august is a film project by dylan raikar and friends that expresses the anxiety, uncertainty, and levity that come with the natural terrain of the mid-to-late twenties. this emotional upheaval is affectionately and colloquially known as the quarter life crisis.
coming spring 2025.

Behind the Scenes
there's an inherent vulnerability that comes with presenting a bold (and irresponsible) idea to those who you deeply respect and admire. having been met with not just a willingness to participate but a genuine excitement to contribute has brought tears to my eyes. i have so much gratitude for all of my collaborators and friends who have dedicated their time, energy, and talents to making this project a reality.
this could not have been done without you.
Inspiration
sometimes our inspirations are so deep seated that we don’t recognize them, and other times we wear them on our sleeves. over the past several years, i have been drawn more and more to films that strike at the heart of the existential dread that comes with growing older and finding love, family, and meaning. late august is an attempt to coalesce all of these notions into one artistic endeavor.
